mid summer days musings.....

IPL s been all entertainment and a success overall.... but there are still things i would like to do away with/ change....i ve run through a few of them.....

1) commentators going "! that is a DLF maximum sixer" for every ball that just about manages to go over the boundary rope..... or going " that was so close to being a DLF maximum six'" for every lofted shot.... or the various versions of " though that might not ve been a DLF maximum sixer , it still gets them one valuable run" ..... Grrrr .... i cant stand it....
same goes for the citi moment of success..... How can bowling a maiden over (at least six moments in itself!) or the wicket of Sauvrav Ganguly (no pun intended) count as a " citi moment of success" ??
The nly plausible reason I can think of is that the commentators have their own " Krackjack- iyam thenja record " contest for being the most repetitious ......

2)Shah Rukh Khan..... whether be it his stupid dance routine with his minions in the stands or one of his umpteen ads ... i cant stand this gaunt, old guy.... I cant go one full round of channels without either seeing his KKR theme(oru mairum purila) or his airtel ad or his sunfeast comedy or the panchvi paas mokka or the many number of 'up close and personal with the badshah of bwood ' reruns of interviews.... or the .... or the.......

Rant over...

3) the number of IPL related articles and debates on the supposed news channels are hardly newsworthy....
the cheer leader's outfits(or the lack of it) has been getting some flak from various quarters ...

apparently , the photos of the cheer leaders outfits are to be sent to the commissioner of police for his approval.... I guess, soon enough, he d start asking of photos of the cheerleaders themselves.... and soon.... he ll have them perform in his office to make sure they dont get away with excessive dancing....... and then.... and ....
Yikes!! i want to be commissioner of police.....

Its ok to run arnd skimpily dressed and do as u see right on screen.... but u are seen as being obscene and influencing young minds when performing live in front a crowd ( yeah rite!!).....

There was this interview which had me in splits too..... some family in some interior town in the north ( i think) have their very lives torn apart because of IPL.....or so they said and i waited till the 'break ' got over to catch the rest of the story....
I thought that maybe they had a son who lost out on a chance to play in the IPL or mebbe that its distracting him from studies et all.....

but no.... nothing quite so trivial .....

This family had to miss out on their favorite soaps cos of the IPL.....

If u are thinking , they can prolly tune in next year and still know wats happening in these mega serials....u are right, but u r missing the point....

either that the channel has no other news to broadcast or they think they ve done something worthy of a ' humanitarian award' for revealing to the world - the sorrow filled life( especially from between 8PM to 11PM) this family had to live cos of the IPL..... Am crying already.....

If only i become the commissioner of police ....apart frm the cheerleading aspect,I also see to it that the ' kyun ki saas ..' be reinstated on prime time television.....

there.... i ve run out things to type..... or have i ??

Verdicts on my first post ranged from ' slight mokka' to ' intense mokka' ..... i d be happy if u let me know wat u think..... no 'm' word ....
i ve really run out of things to type.....
